In a new partnership, Upflex community workspace owners and operators will receive free plants and free delivery when they sign up for a customized paid plant care maintenance plan — focused on reducing both plant care costs and environmental impact — from Zauben.

[New York, April 25th 2024] —  This Earth Week, to promote environmental sustainability, Zauben, a leader in nature-based climate solutions, has teamed up with Upflex, a global workspace and hybrid work strategy provider, to launch a groundbreaking initiative to promote greener workspace. The two companies are partnering to offer complimentary plants to offices across the U.S., enhancing workspace greenery and contributing to carbon emission reduction.

Upflex community workspace providers will receive free plants and free delivery from Zauben when they switch to carbon-cutting plant maintenance.

The Greener Workspace initiative is not just about beautifying spaces; it’s a significant step towards reducing our carbon footprint. “For every 50 coworking locations that join this initiative, we can eliminate up to 10,000 metric tons of CO2 annually. This is equivalent to removing 2,194 landscaping trucks from the road each year through our vendor servicing program,” said Zauben cofounder Zach Smith.

“From day one, sustainability has been at the core of everything we’re building here at Upflex,” said Upflex CEO and cofounder Christophe Garnier. “Our worldwide network of high-quality shared workspace is about using existing space more efficiently while reimagining workplace strategy to reduce or defray carbon. We’re excited to partner with Zauben to offer more workspaces access to plants and green walls — a known wellness enhancer in the workplace — in a strategic, efficient way that reduces a workspace’s environmental footprint, instead of expanding it.”

The benefits extend beyond environmental impact. By integrating more green spaces into work environments, Zauben and Upflex aim to foster healthier, more inviting spaces for employees. Research and wellness surveys have consistently shown the positive effects of plants on health and wellbeing, air quality and productivity.

Moreover, this initiative underscores a commitment to social engagement and the promotion of diversity, equity, and inclusion among plant technicians. “We’re not just adding plants; we’re cultivating communities and encouraging a culture of inclusivity and wellbeing,” added Smith.

As an added benefit, participating locations can expect at least a 20% savings on existing contracts, underscoring the cost-effectiveness of this sustainable approach.
